After the April revolution that lasted for ninteen days the seven party and Maoists formed a new alliance. The alliance on May 17th 2006 passed a new bill known as "The Declaration of The House of Representatives".Throufh this bill the powers of the king were cut off and for the first time in the 238 year long Nepalese monarchy he had to pay taxes.
Now the new Interim Constitution Drafted by Laxman Prasad Aryal too remains quiet in terms of monarchy. It has given all of the kings powers to the PM.
