what is going on in Bermuda? i just went into a grocery store, and a 6 pack of diet coke was $7.99.

Bermuda's cost of living is very high. However the pay scale is high as well, so it balances it's self out to a degree. They do not have a min. wage at this time however it is being discussed. They are proposing an $18 min wage for the island. This should give you a general idea of the pay scale in Bermuda.
Bermuda to USA dollars are $1 to $1.

Bermuda is a small island.....EVERYTHING is shipped in which adds to the cost.....I will also bet that, like ST Thomas, electricity is WAY more expensive than the mainland, which also adds to the cost of everything, and possibly 3rd, there may be import duties on American products

I was just looking for a place and honestly a decent 1 bedroom runs over $2,000 a month. A nice one goes for over $3,000.
