what are really good colleges in New York? or any that is close to pennsylvania

New York University, Columbia University and Cornell University are great colleges located in New York and University of Pennsylvania, Penn State, Villanova University are good schools in Pennsylvania.

There are many good colleges/universities in Pennsylvania/New York...you really have to narrow down what you're interested in -- big/small, urban/suburban/rural, liberal arts/more specialized (ie business, etc.), etc.

check out www.collegeboard.com and www.princetonreview.com for help with a college search. Reach Fiske Guide to Colleges for more insight.

Schools, off the top of my head...NY: Cornell, Hamilton, NYU, Columbia, Baruch, Fordham, St. John's; PA: UPenn, Penn State, Lehigh, Gettysburg, Haverford. Many more. You really have to do some legwork here.

The best colleges in NY that come to mind are Columbia, NYU, Cornell. Also good are Fordham, Colgate, and Ithaca. Penn I think of University of Pennsylvania, Bryn Mawr, Penn State,Bucknell, Villanova.

Columbia, Hofstra, Vassar, NYU and Syracuse are all excellent colleges in New York.

Pen State, IUP and Slippery Rock university. slippery rock has a great set up for teaching and environmental safety engineering degrees. they are all in PA.

It depends on what you want to study. But go to a state school. It's far cheaper and once you have a degree no one cares where it came from.
