The least reported story of this year, in my opinion, is the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan.

The most under-reported story of the year is about the United States building the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad, overlooking the headquarters of the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration. It proves that the U.S.A. intends to dominate Iraq for decades, or at least until all of the OIL is sucked out of Iraq's sands. Why hasn't the mainstream media picked up on this flagrant lie? The giant U.S. military-industrial complex wants 'war' because it's so profitable. The oil companies want to continue to feed America's dependency on cheap, easily-accessible foreign OIL. That's the only reason we're in Iraq. We don't give a damn about bringing democracy to a country who has endured 1,400 years of culture clash. We don't have any interest in restoring "peace" in the middle east. All we want is OIL and the money that war profits generate for government contractors with direct ties to the White House (such as the Carlyle Group and Halliburton). -RKO-
