Something that I find pretty interesting is the trend in the gap between the rich and the poor and the amount of spending on social programs. There are all sorts of complaints from the left that the rich are getting richer at a faster rate than the poor (which makes sense if you understand compounding interest at all), but at the same time, the government hands out more money than ever before. So as we have increased social programs, the gap was widened! Why does nobody point this out?

By championing the causes of the weak, giving them some representation in government instead of trampling upon them for being the have-nots. Something like what Jesus preached, but then some people are still Old Testament

you know - these comments are exactly why we cannot move forward - it sure is easier to blame someone else then to look at our own lives. If you and I, as a progressive liberal (and proud of that) cannot have a dialogue based on mutual respect, acceptance of differences and a willingness to listen to another point of view, then we are all doomed to continue to repeat what obviously does work!!!!!!!!!!!!
please please please - let's get off our damn high horses, learn a little humility and really try to talk - like people with a mind of their own instead of spewing sound bites.
Happy Holidays to you.

so if the democratic party encourages people to be lazy and collect entitlement from government programs (is that your premise?) then why did the unemployment rate go down every year that Bill Clinton was president, people want to work, it is you who will not give them a living wage
