their is no set limit for example if i hid under my blankets with only food and water and nothing else for an entire day i would not learn as much if i traveled to another country and attempted to learn their culture.
the human mind always learns such as when you were a little kid and touched the stove you learned that the stove was hot and should not be touched by bare skin.humans can only learn as much as they try to learn and even when you are not.

I suspect many days it is nearly nothing.
Fortunately, days differ, people differ and even the semi-concious cannot help but notice a disaster when they are in the midst of it. Sometimes.
