I was up in Houston visiting a friend. He introduced me to a friend of his who was an astronaut and had been up on the Space Shuttle. His stories were unbelievably interesting.

Who is the most interesting "stranger" you have met and why?

I met a girl on the train about a week ago, who had spent a long time in hospital recovering from menigitis. This girl had been through so much, yet was happy, upbeat and positive. She answered my questions without a sliver of self-pity. It was very humbling, she was one of the most genuine people I've met, and I felt like I spent that journey chatting with a friend. She had overcome a lot of adversity, and was a lovely girl.

Most interesting

My mate Dave who is a professional Exorcist, published author, ex script writer for radio comedy shows, ex stand up comedian, ex mortician, ex professional gambler, ex bouncer, ex pub manager .... the list goes on.

But he's not a stranger.

Can't say I've met that many truly interesting strangers, just weird strangers.

And as Astronauts have been mentioned, another friend of mine grew up with Neil Armstrongs kids because his father was seconded to NASA by the British Government.
Have seen the piccys of him with Armstrong and several other astronauts.

I once met Neil Armstrong, who is the first man to set foot on the moon. His home town is about 75 miles from me, and I actually was walking down the main street of the town and there he was!!
