I thought Day After Tomorrow was good. Aside from the cheesy looking tornadoes, it had believable and scary special effects. Kept me glued to the tube cos of the suspense buildup throughout the entire movie.

Deep Impact had potential, but that tsunami didn't pack the punch I expected. The only thing I remember was the wall of water rushing into the beach and new york, and it lasted like.. 4 seconds?

argh, you didn't mean natural disaster though, did you. if not, i'd have to go with.. star wars - the phantom menace. THAT was the SINGLE GREATEST DISASTER IN ALL MOVIE HISTORY HOW COULD THEY DESTROY A CULT CLASSIC LIKE STAR WARS BY ADDING JAR JAR, MUTE DARTH MAUL, AND THE "YIPPEEEE" LITTLE DARTH VADER KID!!??

No contest. The Poseidon Adventure (1972) reigns supreme.

Juggernaut (1974) had a few superficial similarities, and a distinctly British sensibility.

Both highly recommended.

The Towering Inferno--Steve McQueen deserved an Oscar for his performance. I'm surprised the movie wasn't revived after what happened to the World Trade Center.
