drop the 0 and add +49 (country code)

The leading zero is dropped in Germany if you call from outside. Germany's country code is 49. To reach the international network
context you usually add a 00 in front. But if I remember correct you
guys use 011. So the number would be either 00497265493166
or 011497265493166.

You have got the correct answer already, but one word of warning for the future. Don't put anyones full phone number on the internet. There are a load of idiots out there who might just think it's funny to ring that number. I had this problem a while back and it was upsetting to have a few weeks of answering and finding total strangers on the phone. There were even people trying to sell me things. They could only have found out my number through that 'mistake' because I am usually ex-.directory.
Too late now though for your friends. Hope they are forgiving types:-)

Hello! You will need to dial 001 before the number. This is the overseas long distance number.
I haven't called Germany in a few years, it may have changed, but I doubt it.
