People dont only have pumpkin pie on xmas but through out the year.. we usually have it during thanksgiving and hallowween because its pumpkin season =]

People eat pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving! But the reason we don't have pumpkin pie on Halloween is because there's too much candy to eat!

Many fruits & veggies are grown round the world so available all year. Others can be grown most the year & stored the rest. Pumpkins are not one of these & really only available for late fall & early winter. This is why pumpkin pie is had say on Thanksgiving & Christmas, but not on Easter & the 4th of July. Meat being available all year as well is why so many of these same holidays use ham (or some type of pork) & turkey.

Pumpkin pie is good all year round. Its made from a gourd vegetable. I think that its appropriate for Christmas because pumpkin is considered a fall/early winter vegetable.

Well i dont know pumpkin pie is like autumn treat. But I don't remember having it for Christmas because thats winter!

We eat made from scratch pumpkin pie every Halloween, courtesy of a great friend and chef.

Pumpkins are just fall fruits, so you can have them throughout the fall and winter (they store well). Halloween just took them as a symbol but people have always used them throughout the fall.

I've never had punkin pie on Christmas. I've had it on Thanksgiving though, and that seems to be the time of year to have it (in November around Thanksgiving time).

You can't have it for Halloween because all of the Pumpkins are Jack-o-lanterns
