Try an oil free make up remover I believe oily products can irritate your eyes, I find that washing my face with those olay daily facial cleansing cloths work really well, I usually use one to remove my make up then follow-up with another to actually wash my face.

Whatever you do, be careful around your eyes.
That said, a gentle facial cleanser and water should do the trick, just be gentle. The baby oil or even Vaseline works, but keep it out of your eyes.
The best thing I have found for removing my make-up are Ponds Cleansing and Make-up Removing towelettes.

well soemtimes lotion don't help when yu are using waterproof.
anything oil based is very good.
baby oil
olive oil
don't use cooking oil you might burn your eye
just partly soak a cotton ball with the oil, don't soak it completely
and you can remove any sort of eye make up from your eye
if you have sensitive eyes jus wash it with water after you clean it.

Alcohol and Fragrance Free, Baby Wipes work Great. You would be surprised how helpful baby wipes are, even if you don't have babies. I keep them in my desk at work to use to wipe any spills or stains on my clothes.

Use makeup remover or astringent
They work very well, still requires a little scrubbing though
