Bigger is better.

Depends. I have had a fourth generation 20 gig, which holds approximately 5000 songs, since Christmas of 2004, and I have yet to fill it up, so from that I would say to go with the 30GB. However, if the receiver of the gift wants to put TV shows or movies on the iPod, you might want to go with the 60GB just so he or she can have both an extensive music library and video collection. Really, it depends on how much you'll expect him or her to use it and for what purpose.

It depends what music he/she likes and how many songs or albums they have. If they like a wide variety of stuff then the 60GB would be ideal. The more GB the better, 60gb = 15,000 songs and that is quite a lot of songs. Although then there's the idea of videos, photos, notes, contacts, extra games etc so it depends. 30 gb = 7,500 songs. It also depends what age.

I have a 20gb Photo iPod and I've had it for about 1 and a half years and I've only filled about 5gb of it even though I like a lot of music

I would say 30gb because unless you love music there's no point in getting a 60gb

are they picky about their music and only like a few songs (30GB) or
do they love lots of music(60GB)? if it were for me i would want 60GB but those are more expensive so think if its relly worth the extra money because they'll love you for it either way. it also might be better to get 30GB because come b-day or next christmas they will want something bigger and better

30GB, it's a lot cheaper. And he/she might use half of that for music and video. No one can fill 60GB worth of music.

not a question of age,its 60gb that has more storage ability,if its not affordable 30 gb is alot of storage too, a teen with deeper pockets or more money can opt for the larger storage, but will it get used ,thats up to the habits of the teenager.
