Those kits by Almay really do work.. they have a whole section for it. Like for each eye color they have products designed that will work best. I found that lining the top eyelid with a darker eyeshadow works better that eye pencil. Then line your bottom lid with a brown instead of a black. One last tip I use, is apply a little light eyeshadow below your bottom eyelid. It really makes your eyes stand out if you put like a shear eyeshadow.

Here's what I do:

1. Skip the eyeliner. Use a dark brown eyeshadow and line your top and bottom lashes.

2. Use a lighter brown eyeshadow (about 2 or 3 shades darker than your skin tone) and apply it in the creases on your eyelids. This will make your eyes look larger and stand out. If you use any of these tips, use this one!

3. Apply a white or beige eyeshadow right below your eyebrows and in the inner corner of your eyes to make them look bigger and brighter.

4. Curl lashes and apply mascara to bottom and top lashes.

I do this simply routine everyday, and it's great because your eyes look wide and gorgeous without looking like you are wearing makeup!

Apply a complimentary color of shadow and highlight, using two or even three colors that blend together well. Use the darkest color in the crease and the lighter colors on the upper brow and lower lid. Also, enhancing with eyeliner works well. Color coordinating and working with various brands of mascara will sometimes help, also. The best way to find your "best" look is to take time to try various approaches to applying your eye makeup. Just keep trying until you come up with something that suits YOU since you're the only one that truly needs to be happy with you anyway. GOOD LUCK and Happy Highlighting!!!

Step one: Use eyeliner only on the outer two thirds of your eyes, not all the way around. Blend it toward the inner corners so you can't tell exactly where the line starts.

Step two: Apply two or three subtle shades of eye shadows that either match or complement your eye color, depending on what color clothes you're wearing. Darker toward the lid, lighter toward the eybrow. Make sure the two or three shades are all blended well so that you can't tell where one stops and the other starts.

Step three: Then play down your cheeks and lips by using tones just a shade or two darker than your skin.

Step four: Look in the mirror and tell yourself you're gorgeous.

Light eye shadows that can do that, but since I do not see the shape of your eyes, I won't be able to tell you how to apply these or what colors will be best for you. Also, look into using a good firming cream for your eyes. My eyes look 100 times better when I use eye firming creams.

Try a sheer neutral eye shadow (a little bit above the crease), with only a bit of eyeliner on the top (depending on your color tone, don't go crazy with colors, like if you are pale don't put on dark black try for a brown or possibly a subtle blue) and one coat of mascara (two if you are not satisfied lol) But don't even bother curling them or anything to maintain and natural look.

Make sure your eyebows are well groomed. Put on a complimentary color of eye shadow, for brown eyes I like a bronzy shade with a little sparkle, and just a touch of mascara, you can go with either brown or black, sometimes I kinda like brown for during the day, remember when your eyebrows are well groomed your whole eye area looks nice.

Use earth tone eye shadows (light browns) and for Mascara, use brown, brown-black, or clear. Less is more if you're going for a natural look. (No eyeliner) when I want to look "natural" I just apply my foundation, and curl my lashes ...and I may or may not use blush or eye shadow, but usually use light earthtones, just to give a little color and sparkle.

You can curl your eyelashes and wear mascara. You might also line just the outer part of your top lid with eyeliner. To appear more awake, dust a little bit of light-colored shimmery eyeshadow on the inner corners of your eyes.
