While Roosevelt was younger than Kennedy when he took office, he was not elected to the office of president until 3 years later. Thus making the other youngest president to be ELECTED to office indeed John F Kennedy.

It was John F. Fennedy. JFK was not only the youngest president, he was the first Catholic to be elected as President as well. Noted for his drafting and design of the Civil Right Act of 1964, which was implemented upon his death by Lyndon B. Johnson. I remember the day he was killed. As kids we mourned as if he was a relative. Obama has the same shades as Kennedy with his positive unifying messages. If elected he would be the youngest and the first minority president.
