There is currently no set date. They have an appeal process with a nine judge panel. It's interesting to note that upon failing appeal, Iraqi law requires execution within 30 days. However, Iraqi law forbids the execution of a person aged over 70. Saddam turns 70 on April 28, 2007. See source 1.
EDIT on Dec. 26, 2006: The Associated Press is reporting that Saddam Hussein failed his appeal, and must be executed within 30 days. The judge stated that any day could be selected for the hanging. See source 2.

If the appeal process works in his favor, Hussein will escape the death penalty because Iraqi law prohibits anyone over the age of 70 from being put to death by the state.
Of the five most evil tyrants in the past 75 years, only one has faced a court of law:
Joseph Stalin killed 10 million of his countrymen and died peacefully in his sleep;
Adolph Hitler killed 6 million Jews and committed suicide;
Idi Amin killed 2 million people in Uganda and retired to France in luxurious exile;
George W. Bush has killed 655,000 Iraqis and 3,000 American soldiers (so far) without taking any responsibility or assuming any accountability for such murderous actions;
Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death for killing 148 people in a small Iraqi village.
Too bad Bush can't be tried by an international tribunal and, if convicted, hang right alongside Hussein. -RKO-

Not soon enough, it should have been done already.
When they found him they should have dropped a grenade down the hole and it would have saved everybody time and money.
Iraq should be giving us oil for free for getting rid of him and his sons.
