Hey rocky, I already tried twice...the marines and the airforce. They won't let me in because of the type of drugs I used to use...Many people in my family were/are in the military including my father who was in it for +20 years. I'm not saying don't seek solutions to problems with the government or the president. I'm saying stop being so quick to tear down and to be negative especially when your main source of input is your coworkers and the media. I think the people in the upper ranks are a little more qualified do their jobs than some deli boy who can't hold a part time job. Have your opinion...fine....but stop complaining and being a little punk and either do something about it if you don't like it or live in another country. And yes...supporting your country does in fact mean supporting the president, unless he does something worthy of empeachment.

In essence, what you are asking is if Yahoo should take it upon itself to censor what people say here about their government and their nation. Sure, why not? Maybe after they begin, we can all get together and have an old-fashioned book-burning just like Uncle Adolph used to, and then we can all trot about waving torches and chanting "seig heil" just like they used to do in Nuremberg. << sarcasm intented.
Dude, as long as what people are saying here is not libelous, then it is protected by the First Amendment. ( in case it has slipped your mind, that can be found in a document called 'The Bill of Rights' that is a part of the Constitution of the United States of America)
Now read this and see if it twists your tale: "Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one." OMG!! He thinks government are evil! And the man whom wrote those words was named Thomas Paine. If you don't know who he is, just Google the name.

There is a book you need to find and read. The title is very simple. It was written back in the 1930's or 40's and titled "1984".

It reflects what can happen to a society that does not question it's leaders. A very sad tale indeed. It was fiction but intended to predict what the year 1984 could be like if we no longer questioned our leaders.

While it is against the law to actively try to overthrow our government what is said on here and elsewhere is mostly aimed at government policy. When a policy is bad it should be talked about. And opinions are just that....opionions.

You will come to rue the day that the ability to share ideas are censored. If that day ever comes we all will pay dearly.
Why do you think that Hitler rose to power. He first told the people what they needed to hear and then made sure the ones that dissented could not do so again. Same with Saddam.

While anti government rederick aimed at overthrowing the goverment should never be alowed a discussion about policy that effects us all should always be allowed and even encouraged. It is what made America what it is today. Freedom of speach is one of our most crucial freedoms. It must be protected at all cost. For without it we could soon become anything but free.

You're kidding....right? If the answer is, "No. I'm not kidding" than I am more than a little scared.

One of the greatest things I learned in civics is the beauty of a country built on the premise that we the people, in addition to seeking Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness, are also mandated to work at forming a more perfect Union.

I take it to mean it is not only our right to criticize politicians with whom we disagree, but it is our duty. In the 230 years since the Declaration of Independence we have had some great presidents, mostly so-so presidents, and a few bad presidents. The same is applies to those in the other branches of government.

Our country is not a monarchy...not a dictatorship...but a republic and democracy calling for our opinions and involvement in the goings on. We were founded by those who were not allowed to have a say and they rose up in rebellion. They were told to back the King...OR ELSE! We were founded by those who felt each person should be free to worship in their own way, not by what a King and a Parliment dictated. We were founded on the belief that each person is equal...which unfortunately has taken us most, if not all of the 230 years to work on, and we are still not finished.

Our country, its Declaration of Independence, it's Constitution are not just old documents gathering dust. But rather a living, breathing, piece of history which calls for constant attention, involvement, passion in one's belief's and enough love to speak out. Even the freedom to those who say we should back up the country, the president, or get out.

It's a beautiful thing...isn't it? Even when I feverently disagree...a beautiful thing indeed.

If we had laws to prohibit our opinion we would not have a constitution. The president is not GOD...he's a person with some big issues.
Would I want his job? No Did I vote? Yes Would I vote for Bush again or ever? No
He has bankrupted every company he's ever been involved with, he's had some major issues with his children, he's been sticking up for daddy for years. Is this what you mean about bashing him?
Do the research and find out what he's really all about. He's putting this country into a total disarray, his governmental abilities are lax at best and he's not very trustworthy.
I gave up backing up the country, I back soliders who are doing the work not the president. He's just barking orders.
Get out? Yeah, I have a right to live here just like you do...I have an opinion and opinions are like ***... some stink and some don't.
That's what makes this a democracy!! Otherwise we are living in Hitlers era and if we're not careful that's the next step.
Be careful who you vote into office!

No. As a country allowing for free speech, we should be able to say whatever we wish about the president or any government leader or representative. It is unfortunate that some people take this freedom to the extreme by saying just anything, without thought as to its merit. On the other hand, it is some people's only way to feel like they have some power in this world. So let'em go ahead and vent. After all, it's only a yahoo Q & A board, and won't go much farther than being read by others who participate.

NO - this would be a violation by Yahoo against what our democratic country stands for.

Yahoo and Google have essentially a violation option in China - they don't AND CANNOT post anything anti-government.
China is a communist state.
Ever consider relocating ?? They might prove more accommodating to your anti-free speech ideas.

Being anti-Bush, anti-anyone, is not bashing America, but bashing someone who might be off-course, with the country in tow. It reflects their loving concern for America.
It is for many, with this president, a re-evaluation of his performance/likely-performance.
Many, if you pay any attention to public opinion polls, have decided that the current resident of the White House, has failed us. And, with their given Right of free speech in free-speech America, in the "land of the brave", they want to be brave and exercise that right.

Free-Speech America, love it or leave it !

No. People need to be able to criticize their own government and not blindly follow them. We would still be part of Britain if our forefathers never critized their government. Freedom of speech is part of what makes this country free. The fact that people can say whatever they want. Even if you don't agree with it. People should not be punished simply because someone else disagrees with them. We need more tolerance.

Okay, it sounds like you don't want to live in a Democracy, where our ancestors (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, etc.) fought for our rights to have free speech. I don't always agree with people's opinions, like yours, but I am so thankful that I am an American and have the right to say anything I want. If you love the United States and our president, then you will want to preserve the freedom that so many soldiers before us have given their lives for.

God bless America!

Hey Sam how come your not in Iraq fighting and supporting your country. Freedom of speech is an American right and if people want to complain about the president does not mean they don't love America the reason to knock this president is because he has hurt America with his stupid policy's and actions. Let us know when you ship out to Iraq jerk.

It is the responsibility of all Americans to protect democracy, especially if it has been brought into disrepute by a lying government. No one person, not even the president, can ignore the peoples judgment.
