Cyprus drives on the same side as UK, so thats a massive bonus compared to other places!!
It does get very hot in summer and very cold in winter. But you'll live with that like the rest do!
Property in northern Cyprus is actualy illegal by international law, as the land was unlawfuly taken away by the Turks from the greeks a while back. So stick with the southern side, as it's legal & safer too!
See http://homepage.ntlworld.com/v.allen8000/cypruspg2.html for more info.
Cheaper property too and a healthier living! I would live there if I could!
Good luck!

I've been there loads of times but it wouldn't be my first choice for a permanent move. Too hot and dry in the summer for me. The people are generally OK and they all talk English. There might be a problem in the north when the Greeks try to reclaim their land so be careful if you are buying property.
