I own a retail business. The only two days a year we are closed is Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Tonight, Christmas Eve, we will work until there are no more customers. That may be 6:00pm or midnight. Christmas Day will be spent with family and friends then getting ready to work another long day on the the 26th. I do want to say thank you to anyone who shopped at a small retail store this holiday season instead of the Wal-Mart, K-Mart or other large corporations. We small business owners are your neighbors and we need your business to survive. Thanks!

I work later today and Tuesday starting at 5:00am.
These are actually great days to work if you are otherwise ready yourself.
Most people are much nicer to us today then other days. There are some problem people with bad atitudes that we will see today, but for the most part, many many many people are much nicer this time of year.

food service is just as bad...christmas parties, kids coming home from college and going out to eat with parents, then everybody else that goes shopping that day comes out to eat afterwards. i think i worked 46 hours compared to the normal 25
