You can forget the expensive mascara, it just costs more. I have tried many kinds, (even the expensive ones) and I still like Maybelline Waterproof the best. They've been doing make up many years. I believe they also make one that helps curl lashes, but if not, here's a tip I got. First apply mascara to the top side of your lashes, then apply to the underside. Heat your eyelash curler with a blowdryer for a few seconds, (if you don't have a blowdryer, run curler under hot water for a few seconds to heat it.) Let it cool a few seconds, so you don't burn yourself, and curl. I curl at the base of my lashes, counting to 10, and a few seconds later, curl again a little farther up, and then "comb" out to separate, if I need to. This way I have big "sweeping" lashes, and it accents my eyes beautifully.

Try applying some heat to your lash curler, let it cool a bit, then curl your lashes. MAC has some great lengthening mascaras and also sell different types of wands on the side.

they do make mascara that helps curl lashes..try that. also get an eyelash curler and use it before you put on mascara. when applying as you get to the tips hold for like 5 seconds and kinda curl it up with your wand. hope it helps!
p.s. dont pump your mascara wand in the tube twirl it instead otherwise you push air in it and dry it out... :-)

Having the same problem, I have given up on mascara (which only irritates my eyes anyway) and have learned to accomplish the same visual effect with eyeliner. Put it on thicker toward the outer corners, non existent toward the inner corners, and blend it so you can't see exactly where the line starts. I use a liquid for more dramatic effect.

Both of my daughters use eyelash curlers before putting on mascara. And the mascara they use is made by Loreal and it has a wand at each end.First "white" mascara goes on first than the black.Their eyelashes look long and beautiful!

it really helps.
and if their makeup is tooo pricey, you can just take their tips and go to a store with makeup more in your price range.
