History has been mofied by those on powers to meet their own objectives. It is good way to brainwash people, by suggesting, what happened in History.

But to what extent world history has been modified to suit the needs of those on power? To what extent it is happening now?

Histwhorians are flunkies of the hereditary regime. In reality, there is no Cycle of History analogous to the youth, maturity, and old age of a person. That is a cover story to hide the natural decay caused by allowing hereditary power.

There is no Left and Right. The whole spectrum that historians choose to claim a place on is an inconsistent an ignorant fraud. For example, the myth that Truman was humanitarian after World War II in not using nukes to scare the Soviet Union out of Eastern Europe was really a right-wing desire to create an enemy strong enough to scare the people into financing a defense industry for 50 years. All authorities are whores, but the media and educational system manage to trick people into thinking that these ambitious imbeciles got ahead through talent. So the most common put down of common-sense interpretations of history is, "I never heard that from the opinion dictators on the Right or on the Left, so the idea must be bizarre. Its logic doesn't matter unless it is presented by a professional thinker."

History and Politics are two sides of the same coin. You cannot discuss one without the other. One gives rise to the other and vice-versa.

Fate represents the edge of the coin.

On a global scale, I can't really say. I know that Milosevic used the history to fight the Muslims in Bosnia. We are learning, finally, the lessons from Viet Nam in fighting the insurgency in Iraq.

Oh, one more that may be interesting. Ahmandinijad (sp) brought together a conference to debate (try to disprove) the Holocaust.

like B. Franklin commented at one time that history was written by the winners to justify the means used for winning and to whitewash their actions performed while doing so.

Of course. "Though God cannot alter the past, historians can" (Samuel Butler), and they probably change it to meet the prevailing ideas and opinions in their own countries.
