I am having all the symptoms of a period. I don't know if it is stress related. I'm going to meet my in-laws and extended family for the first time. I recently had to leave work to be a full time mom.

Depends on your age. If you are young and of child bearing age, no. The whole idea of the period is the sloughing off of the uterine lining where the fertilized egg would implant. This menses cleanse out the old lining and prepares for a new one.

If you are in mid to late 30's, you could be starting menopause. You can have the signs of menses, hot flashes, mood swings etc during this time.

Best thing to do is go see your doctor and get checked out. Its too difficult over the Internet to diagnose someone without seeing them and doing labs.

Good luck and make that appointment soon.

I would say no, because one of the main processes of having a period is the flow of blood leaving the body.
