I have downloaded about 30 tracks from Vanessa Mae to Emerson (something or other!) I still haven't found the one i remember.
Please help!

An instrumental rock band call SKY recorded a version of Toccata, it might be that one. It's on their album volume 2.

Emerson, Lake and Palmer recorded a song "Toccata" on their Brain Salad Surgery album.

I remember a band called "Sky" doing a version. They were led by the classical guitarist John Williams. If memory serves me right, this was a bit more than 18 years ago though.

Rick Wakeman would be a likely candidate or Emerson, Lake and Palmer, though I don't know for certain.
