I know eBay auction BUYERS can sometime pay by money orders or personal checks, and auction SELLERS can also accept payments through PayPal. What other options are available for those of us who no longer want to use PayPal? Everytime I write to eBay with a similar question, they tell me to use the PayPal service ((which eBay OWNS)). Also, does anyone know how a simple SELLER on any auction site can accept CREDIT CARD payments if they don't own a business? Thank You!!!

I think you can use BidPay which is like PayPal. If you're a buyer, you can use PayPal with your credit card. That's the only I know a seller can accept credit cards without actually getting credit card processing. Hope that helps.

There are a lot of third-party services that will help manage and list the auctions and process the credit card payments without requiring you to get a merchant account. Check out marketworks.com. This is another option for the seller.

I can give you a link that deals with Payapl & Ebay transactions through Paypal. PayPal is one of the most popular online money transfer systems widely used for online auctions, pay to surf programs, e-books and purchase of low value goods. It is now a part of the online auction website eBay. More details available at

You connect your bank account to Paypal and transfer the money when it comes in. ~
