While going through things at my parents house, we came across four uncirculated $2 bills, each with a U.S. flag stamp stuck on the front, and cancelled with the name of the city, dated April 13, 1976. Does anyone know what these are as far as collectibles? We've never seen anything like them.

it seems that when the 2 dollar bill was reintroduced in 1976 the nations bicentennial, folks would take then to the post office to get them stamped with the city's post mark, notice the date on the one pictured on the link I sent you , it is also the 4-13 76. follow this auction till it ends and that will give you some idea on its value.now this is a guess so good luck. thank you taiping, always glad to learn new items on coins and bills, thumbs up to you!!

cascadeco is some what in the ballpark. Some were canceled in Philadelphia and sold as souvenirs also. As with all 1976 items there is a collector base. Actually the 1963 and before two dollar bills were United States Notes, in 1976 they became Federal Reserve Notes. In grade extra fine a regular $2 of 1976 sells for $7.00 and in uncirculated it sells for $7.00. Seems to me I have see the bills with the stamp and cancellation for sale for $10-$15. This item is not listed in Bank Note reporter price guides. Maybe because it was done outside the control of the Bureau of Engraving and printing.

I have something like that but its a certificate from world war I or 2. Its not an actual 2 dollar bill, you might get that checked out because the ones we have are worth alot of money.
