Movies influence one's thinking just as a story or event can do..... however there is the added impact due to audio-visual experience of the story or event.
Ultimately though we must realize that the impact is more like a catalyst.... our mind may already be in a particular frame such that the movie reinforces or accelerates that state or idea of the mind. Once it happens, obviously it can result in real life impact as well.

I find that movies sometimes influence my life if what I am watching is believed to be fact and/or stimulates fear. Thus influencing thought by opinion and dreams, influencing actions. My opinion change about pres. Bush because of the movies Farenheit 9/11, the military because of a movie I seen about how disabled soldier are treated after coming back from war, and sometime I dream about fighting zombies, being a vampire, slaying demons etc.

Well it all depends on the movie, for example you can't get such influence by watching Week End At Bernie's, movies for me are a mean of entertaining although some messages get across like when I watched Madonna's The Next Best Thing i realized that if I ever I want to have offspring it will be 2 times better doing everything by the book and with further consultation and advise of the laws as for my legal rights as biological father, cause even your best Friend can turn against you in such cases.

Yes, I think they can if the actors and actresses are good, because they make everything seem so realistic. After watching a scary movie, you might think that there's someone or something following you everywhere you go, and/or you might get nightmares. After watching a science fiction movie, lots of people seem to continously think about that movie. Those kinds of movies can really make you think. Action movies, I think, can influence people alot because then you wonder if action like that could/does really happen. Most dramas are based on things that could/did happen, so we already see the influence they have in our lives.

Movies makers are influenced by the real life incidences as well as on fantasy, People are also influenced by the movies to some extent mostly younger generation, so both go hand in hand and influenced by one and another depending of the likings of the people, In fact for me this seems to me a tricky question thought very wisely

Definitely! A good movie usually gives you something to think about, even if its just how dumb that was and how it could have been improved. You also learn things.
Through CASINO ROYALE, I learned that they demolish buildings in Venice, Italy by sinking them, not imploding them. Neat. Never would have thought it.
From GHOSTBUSTERS, I learned how to break the core out of a head of lettuce so the lettuce lasts longer. Never would have thought it.
From WAR GAMES, I learned a quick and easy way to butter corn on the cob. So much easier than the way I was taught as a child. A lot less mess.
Yup, movies influence my life.

I pick of colloquialisms from movies and movies (the good ones) can make you think.
The first matrix made me think about the nature of reality. Groundhog Day made me question the passage of time. 2001 Space Odyssey (though it bored me to tears) made me wonder if knowledge is always a good thing. Logan's Run forced me evaluate the way we view aging and the old.
Movies may very well be the greatest things since sliced bread. I also think tr hat they are far more powerful than most people realize. After-all, what is more potent than the power of suggestion? It's all the devil has going for him and look what he's accomplished!

Anything which stimulates you to look at life through a different point of view is potentially very valuable for its insight. Movies can convey some of the best of who we are able to be as humans, as well as some of the worst. I have "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" about Saints Francis and Theresa, and "From Hell" about Jack the Ripper. Both are excellent movies.
We need not go to extremes to see things a new way, but the movies we remember tend to paint things in large strokes: including literally, as in "What Dreams May Come," Robin Williams' attempt to convey a cosmic point of view. Or told on a human scale, such drama as "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" with it's lesson on compassion from a very wise young Johnny Depp.

To some extent yes. What we see in a movie is only fiction but many of us get carried away with that so much so that they try to imitate what they see in a movie. Like someones mother is dyeing is a hospital and and he needs some big money to save her. Now, in a movie the character can do many things like robbing a bank, kidnapping a child, asking him wife to do prostitution ans so on. In real life it would only be foolish to to any of those things. The high crime rate, road rage, stupid stunts, youth doing stupid things to impress his girlfriend- these are some of the influences of watching movies on our real life.

Usually I'm inspired by movie with love or life theme.
From watching movie, we can see different sides of life we never see, learning how people deal with their situations.
Watching movies for me is like living another life without live in it. Nor the ending is good or bad, but definetely there must be "something" you can take from it.
Then if it's change the way you think, then it is change the way you live
