Congratulations Bina,
You have pondered on a great question which can transform your life significantly. Depending on the times, the civilizations come and go and everyone and everything on the earth has some role to play , otherwise it wouldn't have been created ( in the first instance).
As far as I know philosophy says that every living being has a divine spark in it and it is a part of supreme force. And the divine spark ( called as 'atman') takes many living forms in many lives and get evolved over time so as to reach back to the source ( called as 'nirvana'). As such we are the children of supreme force and we were created to be good beings and make earth - a better place to live in. Unfortunately due to the various factors like uncertainity, misunderstanding of the concept of 'life' , and past 'karma' - humans tend to behave abnormally and get indulged in various activities which are not supportive to the ultimate goal of attainment of truth.
As such an effort is to be made to glorify the precious gift i.e human life ( compared to other life forms ) through good deeds and having a philosophical and pragmatic approach to life. This may include contributing to the cause of humanity ( Poverty alleviation, environment protection, etc) and also spiritual development of self. One can have self faith and make effort in attaining higher values in life.
I would like to summarize the concept as - "life is an effort and a process which involves spiritual realization and attainment of ultimate truth."

This one may not appear as an easy answer and I have only begun to realize what that is since I have been studying spirituality in the last few years.
God wants us to be more like him and we will be closer to him. We are here on earth for our souls to learn and grow. It is all up to us as God gives us free will.
Here is what we need to learn:
understanding, patience, tolerance, compassion, faith, hope, forgiveness, wisdom, courage, and love.
He expects us to help others every day. Be positive and suround ourselves with the light of God. We are here to protect and cherish Mother Earth.
In this live we are to grow. Not just physically but spiritually. That does not mean religion or that we must go to church but instead it means we must explore our spiritual side and our souls. There should not be a day that we dont give thanks.
Here are some books to help your journey and better understand your life and your purpose:
Proud Spirit by Rosemary Althea
You own the Power by Rosemary Althea
Soul Signs by Rosemary Althea
The Other Side and back by Sylvia Browne
Discover your Destiny by Robin Sharma
The Luck Factor by Dr. Richard Wiseman
The five People you Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
All are different aspects but these can teach you much. I have read them and have grown amazingly. These are just a few I recommend.
Have a great journey to enlightenment.

Love Him. We have free will to chose to love Him. I say that because from what I've learned about God is that He says love an action. Just has He has chosen to love us, out of His free will, by not just destroying us, but giving man redemption, we have the free will to chose God and His ways, thus showing love toward Him. The meaning of life is to love God. Some are predestined for redemption because God KNOWS who does and will, love Him, and this in no way affects free will. Just incase you were wondering how free will and predestination come into play.

"God's will" all too oftentimes seems to be some human's will for others to obey, so as to bigger the selfish hobbies of a company. i don't know if there is particularly a God who needs us to act a definite way, yet I quite don't have the authority to tell you what His will is. My suggestion is to in straightforward terms do what feels precise.

1) To believe in Him
2) To follow the 10
Commandants
3) Love your neighbor as
yourself
4) Do unto others as you
would have them do unto
you.
This is why I don't understand why non-believers are so derisive about Christians. Although they don't believe in God people who try to follow his word make the world a better place to be in.

Your purpose is to awaken to your true self. "God dwells within you as you." You have unity with God in unconditional love within your own heart. As the colors of a rainbow come from sunlight, so to all things come from God. Your supreme duty is to express "that"

If you read the bible it tells you exactly what he expects. Begin with the 10 commandments. He expects us to be good to ourselves and others, not to steal, lie or cheat...........if we follow his commandments it will be a good life for all.
