run its course, but if she has a fever for more than a day with it, take her to the peds. .........that could mean infection, and infections need antibiotics.............hope this helps, hun.

If you take her to the ER you are risking getting her more ill by what those people have. She most likely has a little congestion or a clogged tear duct. All you want to do is wipe her eye with a clean wet cloth when it happens and keep an eye on it. There are no drops that fix this at all, the doctors will tell you the same thing. I would just keep her home and keep an eye on her if her eye starts to get puff around or very red then take her to the doctor

First are you sure it's the cold coming out in her eye? My son had the same thing about the same age, but he had a blocked tear duct, it actually didn't open like it should so then tears, get blocked in and cause an infection. Call your doc, so they can better assess what the problem is. they should be able to give you some drops. Try warm compresses on the eye also. But, she probably doesn't need to go to the ER. The nurses and Doctors should be able to help you over the phone, ER should only be used in an emergency situation.

It could just be a clogged tear duct at this age, not a cold or infection. I would GENTLY with a warm, not hot, soft cloth wipe the corner of the eye. I think the ER is a little drastic. I doubt they give her anything unless her eye is red. If it doesn't resolve itself over the Holidays, make a pediatrician appointment. My son's ducts were clogged on and off until he was about 8 months old. Not a big deal. The doc taught me the proper way to very gently massage the duct and eventually he grew out of it. It is gross. But, it's just one of those nasty baby things that we all deal with.

My son suffered from the same thing numerous times when he was young. It was usually deferred from sinus issues. If she isn't running a temp then taking her to the ER isn't going to get you any meds. As long as it doesn't turn pink or bother her she should be fine. But my rule of thumb is if it's going to bother me and make it so I can't enjoy my day because of worry I took him to the doctor. Even if they didn't give him any meds I felt better which made my little on feel better. They pick up on those feelings of worry we have.

If your still breastfeeding, put some breastmilk on it and it will clear it up in a couple days. My daughter had the same problem and her pediatrician told me to do that and it worked wonders. If your not BF'ing then use a warm washcloth and clean it 3x a day...if it doesnt clear up then take her to her dr...not the ER.

take her to er she needs to be checked over anything to do with the eye needs looking at, try wiping it gently with a CLEAN wet piece of cotten wool only use once as could reinfect. See if this gets rid of the weeping from the eye.
