I have a hoover savvy and I LOVE it ! It's got carpet/bare floor settings.. Stair, upolstrey attachements and it's bagless.. It has a couple filters as well... I've had it for almost 5 yrs.. It cost roughtly $200 but that was a few yrs. ago.. HOWEVER ! I did buy the extended service warranty for the additional 3 yrs. of coverage it was around $100.. Which I'm glad I did so.. I did have a couple problems with the vacuum "clogging" up.. It turned out that the main filter had to be replaced about, every 2 yrs. and it cost around $30-$40. So, I took it in and I got a whole clean/check on the vacuum as well ! I also have a long haired dog that sheds. I actually brush her out and vacuum her once a month ! Also, you might want to consider getting a wet/dry shop vac. you can get a really, really nice one with attachements and a blower feature for your yard for about $100.. The suction is higher than any other vacuum you'll see in your price range and you can use it on furniture/flooring etc... It's also good for wet spills as well.. When my vacuum was getting serviced I found the shop vac to be a great alternative ! Especially good on wood floors.... Good luck

Hey, you with the adopted kids, you ARE a joker, aren't you? :) Our family sometimes plays pranks on each other at Christmas. For example, there was the time my parents wrapped up a set of bicycle handlebar grips for my brother, and on unwrapping nothing but handlebar grips he threw a fit until they wheeled in the bicycle. We also do a lot of nesting boxes, wrapping a tiny gift in a huge box filled with crumpled up paper, and stuff like that. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone, I say it's harmless.

A vacuum cleaner for Christmas? How lovely! Is it an upright, a canister or maybe, bagless too? Merry Christmas and good luck!

She might get a little mad if you bought her something that's broken . Let her break it herself while she is using it ! Maybe the house will get cleaned first !
