Is there a university with a Department of Linguistics in your area? Someone there may be able to help you, and they are often interested in tracking down such words and finding out their origin.

It's probably just a made-up nonsense word used within one of their families as a fun response, or to indicate that the speaker didn't really want to reply to a question. My grandparents used to say "money and fair words", if asked how much something cost, to indicate that they considered the question a bit rude.
