i accidentally slipped out to my friend that i was going shopping for my best friend's xmas gift since she's my best friend and she's also having a party for it. After that, my friend keeps hinting that i didn't get her a present, i keep pretending i don't get her hints because i don't know her very well and she is a spoilt person so if i get her anything i know she won't appreciate it. So, i don't like it the way she keeps on hinting about the presents because, we only started hanging out this year... What should i do?

ohh im sure she didn't get me anything.. The most likely reasons are because i don't celebrate christmas, and she never gave me a birthday gift last year either. I hardly know her at all!?!

she should understand that your best friends come first! and next time she hints...tell her about it! i always just get my best friends stuff for christmas and some of my friends get mad but i always tell them that im sorry but best friends come first and maybe next year...then they are fine with it...sometimes...but good luck! i dont really know what else to tell you!

Tell her you are on a budget and you've reached your limit as far as spending goes. It's extremely tacky to hint or ask for a gift. If you are not close friends then you are not obligated to buy her a gift.

Ask her if she's going to get you a present. If shes not then tell her since she's not getting you, you're not getting her one. And if she says she is, get one just in case except don't give it to her when exchanging gifts. If she gives you yours, tell her that you forgot hers and that you'll give it to her the next day. This way, you can see if she really gave you one.

It sounds like she may have gotten you something already. You should get her something she can use, even if she is spoiled. If you value her friendship, you should get her something, chocolates or a cool scarf. You don't have to spend a lot. It's the thought that counts. Don't be a Scrooge!
