it has always been 'prevalent' based on population of the planet...we just forget or are ignorant of many horrible events in history and today we are better informed about current events than we were in the past....terrorism has existed in various forms throughout history but has in recent times become more defined and used as a label....

War and fighting and skirmishes have always been present. Neighbors have always been fighting neighbors. City against city. Country and country.
There was a relative calm during the years of the Cold War when the Soviets and the Americans could not directly fight because they would have to use nuclear weapons and thus completely destroy each other.
These days the news media coverage is more extensive. Larger parts of the world are covered and so we learn of the fights all over africa, some parts of the middle east and the drug wars in latin america.
There has always been brutality around the world where the strong oppress the weak. Its much easier to have quick money and power and luxury by stealing someone else's land and property or gold or oil - rather than actually build or invent or design or develop something. If there is not enough work, then people will do anything to survive. There can be calm if there a strong dictator in charge and controls the minds and bodies of everyone. When there is no such strong presence, then new ideas and technology and freedoms and self expression can lead to hostility. Society will either move to the next level of stability with democracies all over the world and good jobs and good economies - or it will fall back to the days of old where 'right is might'.

It's because the bloody do-gooders have been allowed to have their own way for far too long - all this "mustn't hit the kiddies" rubbish and no clips round the ear as a sharp reminder that they've done wrong has all led to a "civilised world!" where the young think they can do as they like - and frequently do, to everybody else's costs. Bring back some proper discipline before it's too late! I've noticed lately that one or two Judges are beginning to see the light when sentencing murderers and the like to life and then saying "and you are to serve a minimum of thirty five years!" - about time too. Let's stop this "slap on the wrist" nonsense and dish out some REAL punishment for all those nasty bastards that make our lives a misery.
Having said that, Happy Christmas!

Go and Read Matthew 24 of the Bible and see what should happen before the end comes.
Less prophetically, the current violence is caused directly by the self appointed global police officer being resisted by those under what he percieves to be within his jurisdiction. USA against the arrestable dictators most of which she put in place in better times in the past.
The idea that democracy could one day be compatible with Islam is so misguided that war must follow for those who try to mix these two.

These are the end times. These things will only continue to increase. The prophecies from the bible continue to occur with stunning accuracy. There are not too many more before the end.
Find peace in God and stop worrying about tomorrow. Be one who goes out with the rapture. After that the only way to heaven is to die a martyrs death...

There is a solution. The question is will anyone abide by it. There are too many chiefs' and not enough indians. Too many sides of the story. There are so many different religions out there and every one (religion) want to be right, instead of us coming together as one we try to force it on everybody, also the economy is screwed up as well.

I don't know what you mean by "prevalent." The odds of being killed in a terrorist attack are much, much smaller than the odds of being struck by lightning.
If you mean that war and terrorism fill the headlines, that's true -- and that was always the case.

the world never has and never will know peace. It is human nature to fight amongst one another.
want examples?
Look at kids on playgrounds, Better yet... look at people and their intimate relationships. If you can go 20 years in your relationship andnot fight once, then maybe you can worry about world peace..... stupid hippies
