It would depend on if I was happy to be alone, or want to be with somebody/anybody on christmas.
If I was happy to be alone and it is my choice to be alone on christmas, then I would do whatever I wanted to do. I would treat it just like any other day and with the exception of going to work or going shopping because those places would be closed, I would do whatever makes me happy.
Now if I wanted to be with somebody but couldn't because of money or time off to travel, then I would try and find someplace that I would enjoy a few hours at. Maybe a particular sports bar that may be open, or maybe a movie that I wanted to see. If I couldn't do one of those things because of money, then I would go for a walk and look at things in the store windows or maybe see some cars just to pass the time. If all else fails, I would sit at home and watch a few movies and catch up on some sleep.
I hope that you find whatever it is you are looking for. And remember those people that have friends, are never alone. You may not be able to spend the holiday with them, but they will be there the next day to cheer you up.
