could it be because the sysytem is over heating? And are there any programmes that could be causing it to over heat or is it just hardware failure. ???

It could be overheating. If so, it is hardware-related
Try installing another fan in the box.

could be your running out of memory clear out your cookies, history. and old temp files

do a disk cleanup. and a defrag, and test your puter after that
