Personally speaking you can shove your Christmas pudding right up where the sun don't shine - how people can face that lump of crud after a full dinner I'll never know, and I'm not that fond of it otherwise unless it's fried in butter and covered in sugar a few days later (! ! !). I always go for a nice sherry trifle for afters (we've just made one as it happens!) and as for the mince pies, I can take them or leave them, although once I start 'taking' them, it's a case of "I'll be glad when I've had enough!"
We always say "Why do we do it" and then we all DO do it every year - as well as the savoury stuff, there's the puddings, cakes pies, sweet, chocolate - I can feel the weight going on already just from the thoughts of it all. Lovely, isn't it !
Happy Christmas!

Love them. I love mince pies warmed slightly with sugar all over the top. I'm not much of a fan of Christmas pud, but my Grandma makes a gorgeous one I just love.

Addicted to mince pies - I make quite good ones myself. Only eat Christmas pudding on Christmas day to go along with the tradition, but not keen on it.

I used to loathe both. Now I'm partial to a warm mince pie with a big dollop of clotted cream and a cup of tea. Christmas puddings aren't really to my taste but I usually eat them to get into the spirit of things.

Love 'em. I always buy an extra big pud so we can have it again on Boxing Day. And I always make enough mince pies to last into the new year. Mmmmmmm

Love them both!

I usually keep a Christmas pud (or ten) until my birthday and have it all over again! Cold and sliced thickly with cream.. yummy!

(mince pies however, they need cream AND Brandy Butter!!)
