Mine was when I last stood smack in the middle of nowhere, under a pitch black sky sprinkled with a million stars and a nebula cloud, beside the man I love.

When I got hit by a car, slightly only, but hard enough to lie on the street with pain all over my body. In that hitting moment I felt so close to death, can't really describe the feeling, still can't although it has been a while. I try to think about it, recall the feeling, but I can't. Anyways, I felt alive, I could feel the pain in every body part, the loud noises, people around me, asking questions, all concerned about me or the accident. Later the ambulance came, they took care of me. For a few hours peoples lives were only concentrated on me, the driver of the car, the people around, the people in the hospital...everywhere. I felt so alive and part of life, even though my head was also concerned about injuries, family worries, how life would go on...oh well, all these thoughts come up again, but I know I was very alive at that moment. Very thankful to be alive now. Sometimes I like to taste my blood or touch a bruise just to know that I am alive.

jaykay, about the accident... I also had an accident, I was riding my bike when a car hit me. I didn't feel anything at the moment, it was all so fast, but i didn't pass out. For a sec, it all became very quiet. When I felt I had hit the ground i started to notice all the sounds and images again, and the first thing that came to my mind was to get the hell up and get outa there until another car came from the opposite direction and hit me again. I didn't feel any pain until the police came. I think this may depend on the person, and I think i'm more "survival-mode" wired. Still, i hadn't had the time to feel alive in that moment.

But when I REALLY feel alive, and I feel like a part of the whole "living" Universe, is after a really hard training in karate (I train in Kyokushin Karate). It's like, I'm really tired physically, and very mentally relaxed at the same time. I feel every little wind blow, any change in temperature, any textures, and really enjoy these little glimpses of reality in the present moment. It's almost like u're not even material anymore. U're all just... energy! I happily recommend everyone to try and have one of these moments at least once in their life time.
