Society gives us the impression that man were made to cheat. As if it is impossible for them to stay faithful to their spouse but if the wife steps outside the marriage she is called all type of different names. She becomes outcasted by everyone. In my opinion, cheating is not acceptable for wife or husband.

The difference is not in the numbers who are doing it, it is in honesty!
Married women cheat at the same rate as married men!

I dont know where you are getting your info but were I come from but its not okay for anyone to cheat! Men use this as an excuse to be unfaithful and its no secret that us men have a tendency to think with the wrong head, when most women make there choices based on emotion and how someone makes them feel. People these days just dont remember what marriage is all about. Its about sacrifice and comprimise but Americans have become unbelievably selfish. Whenever you meet someone in the beggining you get that giddy head over heels feeling that I like to call the honeymoon phase! I think that people mistake that feeling for love. That honeymoon phase lasts about a year and a half and when the "honeymoon is over" you are left with a relationship in the real world. I think that when this honeymoon phase goes away people think that it means they have fallen out of love with someone when in reality thats not the case at all. Cheating to me is something that is completelty unforgivable and there is no excuse whatsoever to cheat on someone whether your a man or a woman! Everyone on this earth is faced with temptation whether they admit it or not but a married person has to remember that there lives are no longer there own and every choice that they make will affect the life of someone else. Us married folk have to remember the commitment we have made and the idea that marriage is FOR LIFE. DIVORCE AND INFEDELITY ARE NOT AN OPTION! Unless of coarse you are being abused or cheated on!

Cheating is not the most perfect thing to do but it happens and I don't think either sex is more "normal" cheating than any other. Men get away with cheating better than women do as they usually have work related reasons for "staying late" or working away and as men are the major breadwinners in most cases then the woman cheating is seen as a bigger betrayal, to turn your back on the man who is providing for you and is an afront to male pride.

If you are going to do it then you will regardless of who does the cheating. It is morally wrong but you have to take into account people's circumstances before you jump to conclusions.

I don't believe it is exactly "normal" for either one to cheat. It's obvious that there is something 'wrong' somewhere in the relationship if one person cheats. People are always going to have attractions toward other people, but that doesn't mean that they have to go so far as to cheat - unless that is what they choose to do. As far as the impression that men are more normal in this aspect than women, I believe that idea is one of those things that provides living "proof" that women, quite often, have a higher IQ.

I would not say it is normal, but statistically probably more likely that a man will be unfaithful before his wife. As you know, much of this is because in the average relationship, men are less emotionally involved. Unlike women, men typically find most of their relational fulfillment through visual and physical stimuli. Fantasy and allure reak havoc on men, but you can't put all the blame on men, because women are also a part of the equation.

It's not normal for either men or women to cheat. Unfortunately, alot of the women who cheat with married men know the men are married. So who's the bad guy in this one? It takes two to tango. I know there is alot of temptation out there for both sexes, but if you really love your partner, you wouldn't even think about it. Also, just because you hear alot about cheating, doesn't mean there is alot of it going on. There are alot of faithful couples out there, you just don't hear about them. People don't like to hear that good stuff. Instead they want to hear scandal and gossip. Again, I think cheating is wrong, no matter who does it.

You are correct. Cheating is unacceptable for both people. Men are more than able to stay faithful. they choose not too and that goes for the women too. It is a choice. I'm married to man that has 2 ex wives, and both of them cheated on him. Of course I think both women bimbos. ha!! But I think the same way of a man that cheats.

Anyone who cheats is NOT in love with the other person.
Period.
It is never right to cheat--if you want someone else, finish off the relationship you HAVE before starting a new one!

I agree that it is not acceptable for either party to stray. Men for the longest time have been deemed " ladies men, players, macho" for cheating and or bing able to bed all kinds of women. They are studs, we are sluts. It has been that way since the beginning of time. I think it is foolish and people should take their vows more seriously.

Contrary to popular demand--women do cheat almost as much!!
I agree with you that cheating is not acceptable on either part--too many people get hurt--especially when children are involved.
