It tells us they are smart businessmen/women who understand how to take advantage of a time of year when more people are traveling in order to make a few extra dollars.
Increase rates when demand is higher, decrease rates when demand is lower. Basic economics. Don't take it to different levels....we have enough of that crap in the world...

You don't have to believe in anything but making a profit, and taking advantage of your fair market share of the wealth. It's a good business move this time of year. An ice cream peddler stands to make more money in the summertime, regardless if he eats dairy products or believes in 4th of July. The corner market sells horny goat weed, but I'll almost guarantee you the owner of the store has NO use for that at all. Get it? It's about supply and demand. Even though I'm Catholic, I will still sell Turbans if the profit margin is suitable lol. If I was Mormon, I would sell sodas and ciggarettes and coffee. This is why you will find elderly slinging dope. They don't use it, but it's good money. There you have it.

No, it just means that because the demand for taxis is higher on Christmas, they can charge more.

Well, the Asians that live and work as taxi drivers in your area, seem to celebrate Christmas in their own way.

If I was you I wouldn't connect every thing to religion and believes,,, what you believe in is your problem, and what I believe in is my problem. Business got nothing to do with that.......
