I do....I have no suggestions, for some reason I want to wallow in it this year....some good Christmas music might help though, I think I'll try that right now....
*It would seem that my favorite Christmas songs are all the slightly melancholy ones, like O Holy Night and Ave Maria and Carol of the Bells, etc....I suppose it's okay to feel this way on Christmas because I'm smiling just a little now...and Jewel has one of my FAVORITE Christmas albums :)

I'm so melancholy I'm driving myself crazy. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be glad when the holidays are over. I think I have burst into tears more times in the past few days than I care to count.
This time of year just reminds me of how alone I am, and how every year at this time I think the following year will be different, but it never is.

Yes! I was just thinking how down I feel. Anything that has gone wrong or is sad becomes magnified at Christmas. The emotional impact of this holiday is multifaceted. We remember people who are no longer with us. The pressure is on to have a perfect family like the ones in the catalogues. These are perfect people with perfect figures and teeth, who have perfect jobs with tons of money and possess all the worldy goods imaginable. These are homes with 2.3 kids and a mommy and daddy with jobs that give them tons of time off. They never show real families rushing out to their job or arguing about the credit cards. Just buy buy buy. Spend spend spend or you are a bad person. The pressure is on to spend money. All kinds of marketing is focused on us like an all out attack to separate us from our money. We feel guilty if we don't cave in and then we feel desperate when the bills come in. This holiday has not much to do with the true religious meaning, otherwise, people would not spend money, but rather do kind acts for each other. I desperately miss my parents every day, but especially at Christmas. I walk down the street and if I see a tree in a window that has lights or decorations similar to the Christmas trees we had in my childhood, the tears just run down my face. Merry Christmas! I try to make the best of it. I pray a lot and it helps.

Yes, but what I am hoping to do is bring some happiness to another soul today. I work today and if someone comes in that is having a bad day maybe I can make them laugh a bit.

It's the only time I feel truly alone. I've no suggestions, but to bide your time until the holidays pass.

try so hard not to, but it seems like every year, the whole thing is not what our heart and mind sets it up to be
