In some cases yes.
If the area that the file was stored on has yet to be written over yet, it is possible to recover them.
The easiest was is to use a file recovery software.
www.recovermyfiles.com
is an example of one.
Also keep in mind, you must do this quickly, as every minute you use your computer is a bigger chance the area of the HD will be written over.

All of the above is helpful, but please remember to download the file recovery software into another computer. Even downloading the file will overwrite some of what you are looking for.
Now if you are using the computer right now, you are probably overwriting it as we speak.

yes, there are programs that can recover that stuff, for example.. tune up is a program. it will only recover if the computer hasn't been formatted. if it's been formatted, it won't recover it.
