Yes, until she realises it's one of us!
She's not as common as muck but has a tendency to put on her telephone voice ie uses the queen's english when theres a phonecall at home from outside of family/friends, she does it at work too!
Mind you I do it all of the time too. Never answer the telephone at work with 'Yeah?' as I once did! Even though it was only an internal call, I got a right rollicking from my manager!

no longer posh - brisk. you be attentive to, like the receptionist in a dentist's surgical treatment asserting "hurry up i've got not got all day". Like that. "Helloooo? city Morgue. I ignore how I talk whilst that is me ringing human beings up..... the confiding-type voice works a cope with now and returned.... the brisk voice whilst that is "could I talk to the domicile help admin. on the double". now and returned extraordinarily meek voice whilst getting waiting for tongue-lashing the plumber no longer turning up.

Too funny. People do seem to sometimes have different telephone personalities especially when they're talking to someone they want to impress. Once they get off the phone the real personality comes through...Ahhhh

sometimes - also, her cordless phone has an auto answer on pickup feature, and speakerphone, so when she picks it up she presses the green answer button and more often than not holds the phone next to her head with the speakerphone blurting out.
During the conversation she will say things like "I can hear myself talking", and there is an echo on the line.
Quite amazing - and scary, as she is where my brains came from...

Not when she's answering, but when she's making a call & wants to enquire about something, it's "Oh, hello, I wonder if you could help me...." in this very polite voice. And yes, afterwards she goes right back to her usual common voice.
