Racial segregation is characterized by separation of people in different races in daily life when both are doing equal tasks (like drinking from a water fountain or using a restroom.)

Hope that helped!

I strongly recommend that u read about the history of South Africa in the '50s (Apartheid Policy; N. Mandela); the USA -1954 (when the S. Court ruled that segregated schools were unlawful; the role of M. L. King); the Holocoust in Germany during WW II -just to mention some examples. Definitions have already been provided.

Segregation is an out-dated concept that it was either possible or desirable to keep two "races," black and white, separate. It never worked, as the variation in color from semi-sweet chocolate through creamy caramel which we call "black" today proves. (Don't ask why the references are all to food.)

Face it, the whole thing is a throw-back to some pretty old history, and its way past time to get over it. And as Mother Nature has always intended, Make Love, Not War.

i'm malaysian. our country comprises of three major ethnic groups. it's really sad but racial segregation is rife in our country. people make little voluntary effort to learn about the culture of others and worse still ostracise others on the basis of skin colour. old school politicians play the race card in a bid to separate us all; but united we stand, divided we fall.

when will people come to realize that in the end, we boil down to flesh and bones and we come from one Creator?

When different races are separated....Like back when their were different water fountains for white and black people, and black people had to sit at the back of buses, and couldn't go places where white people could etc.
