Mol or mole is the molecular expressed in grams.

For example, the molecular weight of carbon C is 12, so 1 mol of carbon is 12 grams.

1 mol of a substance is also the weight of Avogadro's number of molecules of the substance.

Avogadro's number = 6.023 x 10 to the power 23 (i.e. 1 followed by 23 zeroes)

This is a question so fundamental to the understanding of chemistry that I thought you should read the complete defintition. It's a shame that you have to ask in this forum....Mol is the symbol for mole a unit of measurement, as explained in wikipedia...it is measured by Avogadro's number.

The mole (symbol: mol) is the SI term identifying the number of particles in a given amount of matter. It is a dimensionless quantity (meaning a number without units) numerically equal to Avogadro's number.

MOL is a shortened form of MOLE. It's basically a mesurement of stuff, e.g. 1 mole of water weighs 18g, because the R.A.M. of Hydrogen is 1, and Oxygen is 16

H2O = 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen

= 2(1) + 1(16)

= 18g

mol is a way of writing 'mole(s)' with other units. A mole is a counting number like a dozen or score, etc. used for counting atomic or molecular entities. One mole electrons, for eg, means 6.023 X (10)^23 electrons.

Mole in simple manner described the mass of any substance in gram.
Mole is the method of measuring atom,molecule or ion in grams.
-Mole of any atom is equal to its atomic mass such as
1 mole carbon = 12 gm (where i atom or carbon is 12 in periodic table)
- Mole of any molecule or compound is equal to its molecular mass

1 mole carbon dioxide = 44 gram where c=12; O = 16
