Vengsarkar is playing the zonal bias.
Surprisingly, the player opted to replace Pathan is a novoice named Ishant Sharma of Delhi (4 1st class matches and 5 List A matches). Is it a political selection?
Strange are the ways of BCCI and the selectors.
Since Sehwag is in the plan for the WC, he should be played but Jaffer, .....

Its not a need to select shewag in this second test ... He is a good batsmen ... He suffered from a finger injury during the one days ... He was taking rest during the first test ... So only he was taken in the team ...

the first thing, india don't have other good openers, so no other choice, and in the time when several other star batsmen r going flop, there is no point in rejecting Sehwag, other wise u have to reject 2-3 other batsmen also...

Unfortunately India do not have many options for opening. Further, Shewag ios such a good player that he can demoralise any bowling attack in the world when he is in good form and touch. Hence India cannot to drop him at this stage till such alternative good opening batsman is available.

He has proved his worth in the past. Though his present performance is dismal, he is capable enough to score big anytime. Besides his batting is is a good bowler as well.
