Instead what is the need of selecting Jaffer for the 2nd test. Jaffer is a flop show. Gambhir deserved a place in the ODI as well as Test matches.
Vengsarkar is playing the zonal bias.
Surprisingly, the player opted to replace Pathan is a novoice named Ishant Sharma of Delhi (4 1st class matches and 5 List A matches). Is it a political selection?
Strange are the ways of BCCI and the selectors.
Since Sehwag is in the plan for the WC, he should be played but Jaffer, .....

Sehwag has played well in Tests for long . So inspite of his poor form , he needs to be given a few more chances .

Its not a need to select shewag in this second test ... He is a good batsmen ... He suffered from a finger injury during the one days ... He was taking rest during the first test ... So only he was taken in the team ...

the first thing, india don't have other good openers, so no other choice, and in the time when several other star batsmen r going flop, there is no point in rejecting Sehwag, other wise u have to reject 2-3 other batsmen also...

Unfortunately India do not have many options for opening. Further, Shewag ios such a good player that he can demoralise any bowling attack in the world when he is in good form and touch. Hence India cannot to drop him at this stage till such alternative good opening batsman is available.

Sehwag has shown his ability to batting on african fast bowling & why r u forgetting that jaffer has played so dull batting game that we have not expect from him.

if not sehwag then who?there isn't any one else to try.Also with the world cup looming we cant experment now.If they fail in the WC there is going to be a wholesale purge of players.

He has proved his worth in the past. Though his present performance is dismal, he is capable enough to score big anytime. Besides his batting is is a good bowler as well.

He is an out standing opener availeble for INDIAN cricket team.
he might be a good alrounder in both types of games(ODI's and TESTS)
