Messersm. Bf 109.... 6 of their aces had over 200 kills. One of them, Erich Hartmann, destroyed 352 Russian planes. They flew, and racked up staggeringly high scores over North Africa, France, the Soviet Union, Great Britain, Poland, and, in the end, Germany itself. Two hundred aerial victories each. By comparison, the top U.S. aces of World War Two achieved twenty or more.
Source(s):
The P-Mustang was a better plane as well as the German Jets, but in overall kills, the 109 was superior. This is a hard question when it comes to comparing fighters, theGerman had a "fly till you die" policy, while the American rotated their pilots out after so many missions.

I think you would have to be a German pilot from that time to know for sure. The Focke Wulfe 190 was probably the best but the Me 262 - the first jet fighter - was faster and better armed. The main problem was that Hitler delayed it until it was too late to be effective and the blockade by the allies meant that they had to use inferior materials to build them which caused problems with reliability.

Some reckon is was the Me262, the first operational jet fighter. Luckily for us, Adolf was obsessed with attack and not defence, and made them concentrate on the fighter-bomber version. If they had not, the pure fighter would have been operational earlier and may well have played havoc with our bombers.

I even have never heard that viewpoint till now. The germans have been truthfully the main fearsome adversaries in international war II. i presumed anybody theory comparable to me. human beings in all threat think of the eastern have been greater effective because of the fact u.s. have been combating them for virtually 4 years till now they have been defeated. Germany surrendered a 12 months after u.s. began combating them in earnest. in actuality this became because of the fact Germany were combating the British because 1939, and the Russians because 1942. this meant that they have got been already on their final legs whilst u.s. confirmed up in Europe. human beings even nonetheless, look to think of that they have got been the only us of a combating in international war II, and think of that different international locations basically helped out. They fail to understand that Britain, Canada, and Australia have been basically as important as u.s. in ending the war, and Russia have been arguably greater important than anybody else in bringing appropriate to the defeat of Germany.

Has to be the ME 109 ...or may be the Junkers Stooker ... both had engines devolved from a Mercedes car... plus the Junkers had "Anti-Stall" and could pull 7G ... a Spitfire would have its wings torn off doing a 7G Turn..!

Messerschmitt BF-109 - it could outdive the Spitfire as it had a direct fuel injection engine.
The ME262 would have made the grade if it wasn't for its unreliable & fire prone engines.
