In some cases, a lot of people just like to "beat around the bush;" and don't really bother with any answer at all. Meanwhile, some people who are "frank and straight forward" are considered to be too brutal at times...I try to find a happy medium between the two. lol.

I've always wondered that myself. Well, I figure either "they" can't handle it when others are frank & forward with "them." Or they are ultra sensitive, and think everyone else is too. When I was a child, we weren't allowed to say how we really felt about anything,
because that was considered "mouthing off." So I decided when I had children, as long as they weren't being disrespectful, they "would" be allowed to say how they felt. And she "does." We have a great relationship because of it.Frank & straight forward is a good thing.

They do not trust. And the way things are these days, who can blame them? But I'll tell you what bothers me: people who lie when they don't need to.
We need to protect our privacy, and so we say no more than we need to about our private lives. And there are times, as we all know, when bullies force us to lie to protect ourselves or others. But to lie unnecessarily, just to have a more interesting tale to tell than the next guy, is to surrender credibility. And you may need it someday. A person with no credibility is an easy victim, because the person who harms him will be able to call him a liar and say the reverse. Liars have fewer defenses against each other than the rest of us, who have reputation for truth-telling on our side.
So maybe the real reason people aren't frank and straightforward is that other people are too nosy!

Some people that are frank and straight forward say it in a hurtful way. They have the nerve to be sensitive themselves. You can get your point accross without being nasty!!!!

Sugar-coating the reality to guard somebody's ego makes them greater egotistical. Being directly forward is honesty. yet honesty is a controversy of concept, and possible be careful while being directly forward by using fact they may be imposing their very own judgement on somebody, which won't unavoidably be authentic.

Because they would come off as rude and most of us do not want to be like that. Though I really wish that I could say what's on my mind. It would so much less stressful(for me at least). I try to be open and honest but it is not always the way to go.

People in general are afraid to hurt others feelings. Although they don't mind talking about the person behind their back. Also, I think many people are afraid to be judged by what opinions they hold about certain subjects.

I am usually straight forward and painfully honest.
If people are too sensitive when asking stupid questions, then they shouldn't asked 'em in the first place.
