Conferences, lectures, panel discussions, symposia, etc. are taking place all over the country all the time on a range of topics. People pay money to attend these conferences. Does anyone know how I can find out the value of this industry?

I don't know if this has ever been quantified, as it spreads out into hotels, catering, transportation, etc.

You might want to start at the American Society of Association Executive, or Meeting Professionals International for more information on impact.

Most local Convention and Housing Bureau's would also have this information, but that would be for local totals, and not a national figure...

Good Luck.
