Score a Touchdown (TD)-get 6 points.
After a TD decide whether to kick a Point After Touchdown (one point added to the 6) or go for a two point conversion (2 points added to the 6)
Teams tend to kick a Field Goal when they can't score a TD. Those are worth 3 points (no matter where it is kicked from).
Those are the offensive ways to score points.
The defense can score too, by: Causing a turnover (taking the ball from the other team) and running it into their end zone for a TD (6 points). Or a defense can tackle the opponent in the defenses' own end zone and get 2 points for their team. This is called a safety.
The whole point to football (just like any other game) is to have more points at the end of the last quarter. Football is played in 4- 15 minute "quarters", for a total of 60 minutes. If at the end of 60 minutes your team has more points than mine, then you win. Games can end 33-10 or 3-5. It depends on how each team scores and how often.
Just so you know, a team can not score just one point. 1 is the only number that cannot be scored. It's always added to the end of a TD.

A touchdown is 6 points. You get that for running or catching the ball in the end zone.
After a touchdown the team has a choice of kicking an extra point or going for two point conversion, (running or passing the ball into the endzone)
A field goal is 3 points. You get that by kicking the ball through the uprights.
A safety (very rare) is 2 points. That occurs when the team with the ball is tackled in its own endzone.
Any combination of these points can become the final score. There is no limit to the score, however the sixty minute game usually keeps the score under 70 pts.

A touchdown is worth 6 points. Then the extra point after a touchdown if the team kicks the ball through the uprights it is 1 point (most common as it almost always works) or they can run or throw and catch the ball in the end zone for 2 points.
A field goal (kicking the ball through the uprights is worth 3 points. A safety, tackling the opponent in his end zone is worth 2 points.
There can be many touchdowns in game all that means is someone ran the ball into the end zone or caught the ball in the end zone.

Touchdowns are worth 6 points. Teams can go for the kick conversion (1 point) or the 2 point conversion. Field goals are 3 points. Safeties are 2 points. A safety is where the player with the ball gets tackled in the endzone, or there's an offensive penalty in the endzone or a punter steps out of bounds when punting out of the endzone.
