Look for teenage novels or books for native speakers of English who have reading problems.

Another good source is to read a magazine every week that has something you are interested in. I learned another language this way.

If you go to a public library they will have a lot of experience in this.

Keep a radio going tuned to an English station whenever you can.
Good luck.

I have read your question and requirement.Let me tell you that just reading novels would not improve your speech. You need to learn the basic grammar and learn the different usages in speaking and writing both. The main course being understanding the tenses and other parts of speeches. This will help you to form correct sentences.Try to to speak simple and small sentences. In the beginning it may be little dificult for you in the beginning but in due course you will gain confidence and you will start speaking fluently.

Do not hesitate but take it seriously.Speak in the language with everyone to gain more confidence.

I recommend looking into joining Toastmasters. It is a non-profit international organization where members are able to work on their public speaking and communication skills. While it may be challenging at first when it comes to public speaking and giving speeches - it is a great opportunity to work on your communication skills and to gain more confidence when speaking to others in the workplace. While it is not a "quick fix", it will definitely help you, no matter what type of work you do.

Good luck!

Read Richard Wright novels, "Black Boy" in my opinion is his greatest masterpiece.

Why you may ask? He is master of translating thought to to spoken words. If you read his book you will need no further explanation.

Try novels which are in the first person. Such novels make you think from the narrator's perspective and the words stick to you easier. Try "To kill a mockingbird" by Harper Lee.
