Consider the following situation: A person purchased a 2006 Grand prix from your dealership 4 months ago, their car gets both the front and rear doors hit so much so that both of them needs to be replaced. The person does not feel safe in the car and no longer wants the car, the purchase price was 16,450 with all taxes and fees. What trade-in amount could they possibly get? or would you even be able to put them in another vehicle? What can the dealership do in a situation like this? Serious answers only.

Without having the car repaired you will get salvage value which will be a few hundred. Didn't you have insurance?

The dealership has absolutely no obligation or advantage in giving you above real value for a wrecked car.

I am not in car sales but this is what you need to find out if you haven't already.
1.Is it the customers fault the damaged occurred, and if so, why didn't the insurance company cover the damages?
2. Act of nature - insurance
3. Angry husband or wife - they are on their own
4. The car now belongs to them, whatever happened to it after it left your lot is not your responsibility.

I would tell them the best thing they could do is try to sell it to an individual because the only thing you could do is sell it wholesale. You would not make if they used it for a trade in.

Politely send them away!

1> your mental defects are not my problem
2> in an effort to pacify you I would offer you 80% of what you paid toward a 100% sticker priced new car at my lot.
It may suck, but I have big bills to pay and if you want your cars properly serviced you gotta pay me.
