My sons escort cabriolet needs a new battery, will it affect his alarm when changing it.Will it have to be set again or not.Thanks.

You get little slafe batery, 12 volt from motorcycle, fitting Cigarette lighter fitting plug, plug cigarette liter in, den disconnect mains battery rap tape rount red terminal so no shorting, put new battery place in ant connecting it up is. Alarm ant radio on allt time so ne reset, den disconnect slafe battery cigarette liter fron is eesy. Me watch mens do it garage, dey charge fisty quids reset alarm but dey not it do, it taek fife minute, charge hour fore.

Get a memory saver from and auto parts store. These plug into a cigar lighter and will keep the power going while you swap out the battery.

it depends onthe alarm but you can buy back up packs that go into the cig lighter that keep the memory going in the car whilst you change the battery
